Virat Kohli Once Revealed Being Starstruck By Tennis Legend, “I Was Just Happy”

Virat Kohli, globally admired Indian cricketer is known for his exceptional prowess and disciplined demeanor. Recently, he surpassed the famous Brazilian footballer Neymar’s record among the top 5 athletes followed on X. Also in his home country, India Virat Kohli is the most followed Indian on Instagram having, massive fan following of 268 million.

Interestingly, despite his own monumental achievements and fame, King Kohli (as fans fondly call him) revealed that he found himself getting star struck by tennis legend Boris Becker. The moment highlights that even the most celebrated athletes can get star stuck by other famous athletes around the globe.

In an interview with Star Sports, Virat was asked the most googled questions about him. One of the questions asked by the host, Sumukhi Suresh was ” Has Virat ever been starstruck?’

In response, Virat could envisage the scene and described the special memory to the host as,

“We were in London, I don’t remember the year, but we went to a restaurant to eat food and Boris Becker was standing there and I’m a huge tennis fan right. I mean, I’ve met Roger Federer and everyone and I really get inspired by all these guys but because I got to meet Roger through people I wasn’t starstruck. I mean I was really excited obviously, my heart was beating fast.”

Sumukhi Suresh was inquisitive to know what followed after Virat caught himself in a moment of getting star struck. The host further enquired if Kohli approached the Tennis legend, Boris Becker. Virat responded highlighting the importance of privacy of celebrities,

“But when I saw Boris Becker just standing there randomly because it was unexpected right? I was like bubbling inside but I didn’t go to say anything. Nothing, I just couldn’t do it. He was having a meal, I didn’t feel like going to him and disturbing him. No chance! I just saw him and I was just happy with that.”

Boris Becker took the notice and shared his admiration for the Indian cricketer, posting a story on Instagram captioned, “Love U 2”,

Another Incident With Andrea Pirlo

Reminiscing another starstruck moment in an unexpected encounter with famous footballer Andrea Pirlo, Virat recounted,

“And then another incident happened and I went to the washroom, and next to me washing hands was Andrea Pirlo. All I could say to him was ‘Great to see you; have a great evening’; yeh bolke mai bhag gaya. (I ran away immediately after saying this.)”
