As ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 inaugurated from June 01 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium , India is all set to embark on its first match on June 05
against Ireland.
Captain Rohit Sharma will be accompanied by star player Virat Kohli to lead team to the trophy.
Steve Smith claims that Virat Kohli will be the highest run-getter at the T20 World Cup 2024. Speaking to the ICC, the Australia batter,also the commentator, said,
“My top run-getter for this tournament will be Virat Kohli. He is coming off a terrific IPL and he is bringing in some great form and I think he will be the leading run-getter.”
Graeme Smith also went with Kohli alongwith England captain Jos Buttler predicting to become the top run-getter in the tournament.
“I am going with a top-order batter. Virat Kohli or Jos Buttler,” said Smith.
Virat’s Recent Record at IPL
Virat Kohli earned the orange cap in Indian Premier League after scoring 741 runs in 15 matches for RCB in this edition.
The second time, Virat won the award for the leading run-getter of the IPL having scored 973 runs during the 2016 season to claim the award for the first time.
