Ihsanullahโ€™s first decision to quit the Pakistan Super League (PSL) came from feeling upset after not being picked in the season 10 draft, even though he had been playing well. The 22-year-old fast bowler shared how hurt he was by being ignored and said he had thought carefully before retiring.

But soon after making the announcement, Ihsanullah changed his mind. He admitted that he had decided in the heat of the moment and later apologized. In an honest interview, he explained that he would take back his retirement and keep playing in the PSL.

I had hoped that a team would pick me, but when that didn’t happen, I was emotionally charged. Many fans, friends, and supporters reached out with kind messages, which made me reconsider my earlier decision.” the pacer said.

Ihsanullah also promised to work hard and make a strong return to domestic cricket so that a team would pick him up next time. He also apologized to the Multan Sultans for his earlier comments. The fast bowler also said that he would make those who doubted him “chase him” by bowling at speeds of 150-160 km/h.

Ihsanullah became well-known after taking 22 wickets with an economy rate of 7.59 in PSL 8 for Multan Sultans. His strong performances quickly grabbed the selectorsโ€™ attention, and he got a place in Pakistan’s T20I team.

He made his international debut against Afghanistan in March 2023 and later played in a series against New Zealand. During that same series, Ihsanullah also got his first ODI cap.

However, his bright start was suddenly interrupted by an elbow injury, which caused a lot of debate about how his recovery was managed. After being out for months, Ihsanullah made his return to competitive cricket in the Champions T20 Cup. Even though he only took two wickets in four matches, it was an important step in his journey to get back into form and full fitness.
