England’s captain Ben Stokes, has not registered his name for the upcoming mega auction of IPL 2025, and he will also miss the 2026 season. This will be his second year away from the IPL as earlier this year he missed the T20 World Cup, and the IPL due to his hamstring injury.
The 33-year-old all-rounder’s name is missing from the list of 52 English players who registered for the IPL 2025 auction, which will be held on November 24th and 25th. Stokes will not be able to play the IPL until 2027. His teammate James Anderson, who has taken the most wickets for England in his test career will be available in the mega auction of the IPL 2025.
Ben Stokes last played IPL in 2023 in which he was sold to Chennai Super Kings for 16.25Cr, he only played two matches due to injuries, in that season he scored 15 runs with an average of 7.50. He then opted out of the IPL 2024 and has done the same for the IPL 2025. The rule says, “Any Overseas Player will have to register for the Big Auction. In case the overseas player doesn’t register, then he will be ineligible to register in the following year’s player auction.”
