The International Cricket Council (ICC) reached an agreement on Thursday to conduct the 2025 Champions Trophy using a hybrid model, with India playing all its fixtures in Dubai. Additionally, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has agreed to the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) request to adopt the hybrid model for all ICC tournaments hosted in India through 2027.

As per a report from the news agency PTI, the resolution was concluded after the ICC’s newly appointed chairman, Jay Shah, held an informal meeting with the board members, including representatives from Pakistan, at the organization’s headquarters in Dubai on Thursday.

It’s been agreed in principle by all parties that the 2025 Champions Trophy will be held in the UAE and Pakistan, with India playing its matches in Dubai. It’s a win-win situation for all stakeholders,” the ICC source told PTI.

BCCI and the ICC want Pakistan to host the Champions Trophy 2025 in a hybrid model. The PCB requested that the same arrangement should be implemented for all ICC tournaments held in India until 2031. However, the ICC has agreed to adopt the hybrid model for all its events through 2027.

During this timeframe, India will host a pair of ICC tournaments. In 2026, they will co-host the T20 World Cup with Sri Lanka, meaning Pakistan will play all their matches on the island. Additionally, India will host the Women’s World Cup in 2025, requiring Pakistan’s cricket team to compete in a neutral venue for all their fixtures.

During the 2026 men’s T20 World Cup, Pakistan will play its matches in Sri Lanka. The compensation demanded by PCB for the Champions Trophy hybrid model is still under consideration,” the source said.
