In the movie, Deckard Shaw severely injures Hobbs during a fight at the DSS office resulting in him getting sidelined for much of the movie. In the latter stages of the movie, Hobbs makes a dramatic return and breaks through the hospital after learning that Dom’s crew is in danger from Shaw.
