Kylian Mbappé finally made his dream move to Real Madrid following his departure from Paris Saint Germain. The Frenchman signed as a free agent following the expiry of his PSG contract agreeing to a five-year deal that would keep him at the club until 2029.
After his arrival was confirmed, the World Cup winner shared a post on his Instagram, a picture that was taken about 11 years ago when Zinedine Zidane invited him to Real Madrid’s training ground.
“A dream come true, So happy and proud to join the club of my dream @realmadrid. Nobody can understand how excited I am right now. Can’t wait to see you, Madridistas, and thanks for your unbelievable support. ¡Hala Madrid!” the 25-year-old wrote.
Fans, former players, and celebrities were quick to send their regards and well wishes to Mbappe. Notably, some of the former Real Madrid stars also welcomed the Frenchman to Madrid.
Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo wrote: “My turn to 👀 Excited to see you light up the Bernabéu. ⚽️💪 #HalaMadrid,” This comment generated 4.5 million likes and counting which is a record number of likes on any comment on Instagram. Ronaldo’s comment would come as a huge boost for Mbappe given that the former PSG forward has been idolizing the five-time Ballon d’Or winner since childhood.
Another Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos welcomed the Frenchman writing “Welcome bro” and former England captain David Beckham told Madrid’s latest star: “Congratulations, my friend. More exciting times ahead“
Mbappe’s debut for Real Madrid will likely come in pre-season when they are scheduled to play a friendly against AC Milan at Soldier Field, Chicago on July 31. Currently, he is on International duty with the French National side as they look to win their third European Championships.

Mbappe would have a chance to win silverware with Real Madrid as early as this August when they play UEFA Europa League winners Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup at the Stadion Narodowy in Warsaw, Poland on 14 August 2024.
