Cristiano Ronaldo reached yet another milestone in his already illustrious career, becoming the first player to score 900 goals. The Al Nassr forward hit the back of the net for Portugal in their Nations League game against Croatia at the Estadio da Luz. The goal came in the 34th minute when he met a cross from Nuno Mendes and finished with an easy close-range volley.

The goal led to wild celebrations among the home players as Ronaldo fell to their knees at the corner flag and was visibly emotional. The hosts eventually won the game 2-1.
“It means a lot,” Ronaldo said after the match. “It was a milestone I wanted to reach for a long time. I  would reach this number because as I continue to play, it would happen naturally”

Ronaldo’s Career Goals for Club and Country

At 39 years old, Ronaldo has now scored 131 goals for his country, along with 450 for Real Madrid from 438 appearances, 145 for Manchester United from 346 appearances, 101 for Juventus from 134 appearances, 68 for Al Nassr from 74 appearances, and five for Sporting Lisbon from 31 appearances, his first club.

Amazingly, nearly half of Ronaldo’s goals (437) have come after he turned 30 in February 2015. Out of his 900 goals, the 39-year-old has 164 penalty goals and 64 direct free-kick goals. He has scored 573 goals with his right foot, 173 with his left, 152 headers, and two from other parts of his body.

How many goals has Ronaldo scored in the finals?

Cristiano Ronaldo has played in 32 finals with his club and country. Though he has yet to score or assist for Portugal in the finals, the 39-year-old has scored 23 goals along with 2 assists for his clubs over the years.

He notably scored against Juventus in the UEFA Champions League final in 2017 at the Millenium Stadium, slotting a brilliant shot from just inside the box to give Real Madrid the lead in the match.

Ronaldo’s most prolific season was 2011-12 when he scored 69 goals for club and country. Out of his 69 goals, 60 came for Real Madrid and 9 for Portugal. Remarkably, these 69 goals came in 69 games, but he did not score in 26 of those matches.

He also recorded 18 assists in the season and averaged 70 minutes per goal contribution. Real Madrid ended with 100 points during that season and lifted their record 32nd title.
