Tottenham Hotspur will start their Premier League season away to Leicester City on the opening weekend of the new season. The Lilywhites will be hopeful of ending their 16-year trophy drought this season under the guidance of Ange Postecoglou.

Let us look at 5 players they need to sign before the new Premier League season.

1. Eberechi Eze

Tottenham Hotspur have been admirers of Eze for a long time. The Crystal Palace attacking midfielder has been one of the key players for his side scoring 11 goals in 27 appearances last season in the Premier League.

Eze seems to be a perfect fit for Postecoglou’s side given their style of play. The front three of Son Maddison and Eze would give nightmares to any Premier League defense and despite Palace being reportedly reluctant to let Eze go, he does have a release clause of £60million in his contract. If Spurs put the money on the table, they will have a chance to acquire his services for the coming season.

2. Ivan Toney

When Kane departed for Bayern Munich from Tottenham, he left a huge hole to be filled at Spurs. The arrival of Richarlison was thought to be the answer but the Brazilian failed to justify his hefty price tag. With Richarlison reportedly wanting a switch to Saudi Arabia this summer, Tottenham have recognized Ivan Toney as his potential replacement.

Toney wants a move to a ‘bigger club’ and Brentford are listening to the offers for their soon-to-be out-of-contract striker. Spurs are battling their city rivals West Ham for his signature and the ‘Tottenham project’ may be more attractive for the England striker.

3. Conor Gallagher

Conor Gallagher is another player who has been linked to Tottenham for a long time. Gallagher made 50 appearances for Chelsea last season and wore the captain’s armband for some of the matches. However, the departure of Mauricio Pochettino from the club has cast doubt on his future.

The 24-year-old will be a perfect box-to-box midfielder for Tottenham, something they have craved for since the days of Moussa Dembele. Gallagher will be out of contract at Stamford Bridge next summer and with the Blues under pressure from the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, an attractive offer from Tottenham would be hard to resist for Chelsea.

4. Alfie Doughty

Alfie Doughty was one of Luton’s best players last season. The left-back scored two goals and assisted another two in the PL last season and impressed with his defensive abilities. Doughty would be a perfect recruit for Tottenham as they are running short of choices in the left-back position. Ryan Sessegnon is leaving the club for free this summer, Sergio Regulion is likely to be sold and Ben Davies is getting no younger.

With Tottenham set to play Europa League this season, Doughty would be almost guaranteed game time, and with the price tag set at around £10M for the 24-year-old, it would be a no-brainer for Daniel Levy to make a move for the young Englishman.

5. Andreas Pereira

Andreas Pereira shone at Fulham ever since arriving from Old Trafford. Last season, Pereira scored 3 goals and assisted 9 in appearances in all competitions. The attacking midfielder is now on the radar of Tottenham and they are reportedly willing to pay double of what Fulham paid to Manchester United for his services.

Pereira will suit Ange Postecoglou’s attacking style of play and could prove to be a major asset for the Lilywhites. However, the move would be far from straightforward as the Brazilian has also attracted offers from other Premier League clubs like Chelsea.
