Round 18 of the 2024 F1 World Championship takes us to the streets of Marina Bay for what promises to be a fascinating Singapore GP. Lando Norris will start the from pole position ahead of his title rival Max Verstappen with Lewis Hamilton in P3.

Over in the other McLaren garage, qualifying didn’t go as smoothly for Piastri. While the Australian seemed more at ease with the MCL38 after some difficulties on Friday, he was left regretting errors that he felt cost him crucial lap time. The Azerbaijan GP winner will start the race from P5.

Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Perez was again a disappointment for Red Bull suffering a shock Q2 exit in Saturday’s qualifying. The Mexican will start the race back in P13. Taking of disappointments, the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz also had a Saturday to forget and will start the Singapore GP P9 and P10 respectively.

Sainz triggered the red flags early in the pole position shootout when the Spaniard lost control of his car while preparing for a flying lap, crashing into the barriers at the final corner. Sainz was also penalized for crossing the track dangerously on foot to reach the pitlane after the crash, adding further misery to an already disappointing qualifying.

Following that crash, the remaining nine drivers faced a one-lap shootout for pole position, but Ferrari’s woes continued as Leclerc had his time deleted for exceeding track limits at Turn 2.
