Mercedes Unveil Special Look to Celebrate Major Milestone

Mercedes has revealed a special one-off livery for this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix. The livery will be in action throughout the Marina Bay weekend starting with FP1 on Friday.

The special livery has been designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its title and technical sponsor, Petronas. The W15 car, driven by Lewis Hamilton and George Russell in Singapore, will feature a silver nose and a sidepod replaced by Petronas’ signature emerald green. The remainder of the car retains its black paint and exposed carbon fiber, with INEOS’ dark red accents remaining untouched.

Petronas, the energy giant headquartered in neighboring Malaysia, considers the Singapore Grand Prix as its closest event to a home race, hence Mercedes chose the street circuit to celebrate the occasion. In addition to being a primary sponsor, Petronas has supplied Mercedes with oil and lubricants since the team’s return in 2010.

This technological partnership is also reinforced by a strategic business alliance with Mercedes-Benz, bridging the gap between the racetrack and the road. The advanced technology developed in the demanding environment of Formula One plays a key role in producing top-tier lubricants for passenger vehicles, including high-performance Mercedes-AMG road cars.

“Our partnership with Petronas is our longest standing and still going strong,” said Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff. “We share a common belief and commitment to innovation and performance of the cars. That has enabled us to achieve such incredible success in recent years and Petronas has been right at the heart of that.”

“We look forward to continuing our relationship for many more years to come, and with exciting challenges ahead such as the introduction of sustainable fuels in 2026. This livery is therefore not only a celebration of their 50th anniversary but a reflection of Petronas’ importance in our team’s story and honors our journey together.”

After the weekend, the Mercedes drivers will travel to Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian capital, for their annual visit to Petronas’ headquarters.

“It’s always a pleasure visiting the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur and meeting the incredible team that has been instrumental in the company’s success over the past 50 years, with many more to come,”

Established in 1974, PETRONAS has evolved into a global leader in energy and solutions, collaborating closely with Mercedes to enhance both on-track performance and off-track innovation since 2010.
