Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) received an email from the International Cricket Council (ICC) stating that BCCI confirmed that India will not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025. India hasn’t traveled to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023 either, that tournament was hosted by Pakistan in a “hybrid model” with Sri Lanka hosting all the matches of India. But this time PCB stands firm and is not prepared to even accept any hybrid model.

The PCB has forwarded that e-mail to the Government of Pakistan for their advice and guidance,” said a PCB spokesperson,  the Pakistan Government, may instruct the PCB to pull out from the tournament and boycott all the matches with India in ICC or ACC tournaments until the political issue between two nations will be resolved.

During the ongoing tour of India to South Africa, a Pakistani fan asked the Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav, Why won’t he come to Pakistan?

He replied: Humre haath mai thori hai (It’s not in our hands).

PCT may pull out

Reportedly PCB chairman has dismissed the idea of a hybrid model that could lead the ICC to shift the entire tournament out from Pakistan. The government of Pakistan will instruct the PCB to pull out from the Champions Trophy 2025.

In such a case, one of the options the government is mulling is that of asking the PCB to ensure Pakistan doesn’t participate in the Champions Trophy,” the report quoted.
