Afghanistan has entered the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Semi final for the first time in their cricket history. In their last Super Eight match, they beat Bangladesh by 8 runs (DLS method).On the other hand, South Africa have won every match of the tournament so far.

South Africa however has a record of not being able to cross the barricade of semis, earning them the name ‘chokers’. This time, they have entered the semi final by defeating West Indies in last Super Eight match. They beat the opponent by 3 wickets through DLS method.

The first semi final will place a contest between South Africa and Afghanistan, a bigger challenge for Afghans after beating the ODI 2023 Champions, Australia. South Africa has continued the winning streak so far in the tournament and will look forward to wash the name of ‘chokers’ on the team.

When And Where to Watch South Africa vs Afghanistan

On June 27, the SA vs AFG match will be played at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad. The game will start at 6 AM IST.

The match can be freely streamed on Disney+Hotstar app. And Star Sports Network has the broadcasting rights for the T20 World Cup.

Weather is a challenging factor in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. There are chances of rain during the day but the match starts at 8:30 PM local time. In the evening temperature is expected to be 26-27 degrees Celsius and the weather is expected to be partly cloudy.

In case the match is washed out, ICC has reserved a day for the first semi final. If the match had started on the scheduled day and was halted by the rain. On the reserve day, it will resume from that point only.
