Longest Double-Double Streaks in WNBA as Angel Reese Equals Record
Angel Reese became the youngest player in WNBA history to score nine consecutive double-doubles. The No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft scored 18 points and 11 rebounds in Chicago Sky’s 95-83 defeat to the back-to-back champion Las Vegas Aces.
Out of her 18 points, Reese scored 10 in the second half, taking advantage of the mismatch against Alysha Clark. She sparked an impressive run cutting Aces’ lead down to 10 points but it was too late as Aces sealed the win.
The Chicago Sky forward tied Candace Parker as the only other player to accomplish 9 double-doubles in a single season. Parker achieved the feat with the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2015 season.
Reese is now averaging 13.5 points, and 11.1 rebounds this season in the WNBA. Among the rookies, the 22-year-old is second in scoring, first in rebounding, and first in steals this season.
Reese, the former LSU star who led the Tigers to the 2023 National Championship, scored a career-high 18 rebounds in just 29 minutes against the Dallas Wings in an 83-72 win on June 20.
She followed that performance by scoring a career-high 25 points to defeat the Indiana Fever 88-87 last week.
