Cody Rhodes Appears in Promotional Video for Amazon Prime’s “The Boys,” Shares a Message for “Homelander”

Cody Rhodes has appeared in the new ad for Amazon Prime’s show “The Boys” which is currently streaming on the platform.

The show debuted in 2019 and there are a lot of similarities between “Homelander”, the show’s lead character, and Cody Rhodes. Both have similar outfits and are known for their blonde hair. Due to these similarities, Rhoades has hinted about going full homelander against AJ Styles at Clash at the Castle.

In the ad, Rhodes turns around and asks, “So, Homelander, what do you want to talk about?” as his eyes turned into layers.

About “The Boys”

“The Boys” is an American television series directed by Eric Kripke. The series revolves around the ‘Supes’ which are powerful creatures who want to be seen as heroes by the public. John J. Gillman, who plays the role of homelander in the series, is the supervillain and the main antagonist of the comic book series.

The first season of the series was released on July 26, 2019. The season comprised 8 episodes. From the second season onwards the series started to air on a weekly basis until the season finale on October 9, 2020.

The third season premiered on June 3, 2022, with the first three episodes released immediately. The fourth season premiered on June 13, 2024. The current season of “The Boys” is released every week on Amazon Prime.

“The Boys” has seen significant growth in viewership numbers on Amazon since the series began. The series reported that viewership has increased by 89% recently underlining the huge strides it has made since it began to air in 2019.

Cody Rhodes has become the new face of the WWE following a win against Roman Reigns which crowned him the Undisputed WWE Champion. The American Nightmare returned to WWE in 2022 and has ever since been one of the fan favorites. However, there are some sections of the fans who want to see a change in his WWE role.

While taking to Pivot, Rhodes said, “There’s a beauty if you can commit to being a bad guy. It’s a unique space creatively. You’ve gotta be really vulnerable and open, and you’ve gotta be blood-hungry in terms of how you are on the microphone. There’s this growing sect of fans that wants to see that happen for me at some point, and I understand the links”
