NFL legend Larry Allen has passed away at the age of 52. The Hall of Famer passed away suddenly on Sunday while on a vacation with his family in Mexico. The NFL family shared their condolences for the Dallas Cowboys legend with condolences pouring from friends, former teammates, colleagues, fans and well wishers.

According to Dallas Cowboys, Allen was one of the strongest player to ever step foot on the NFL pitch. He started his college career at Butte Junior College in Oroville, California. Drafted by Cowboys in 1994 NFL draft, he became an all time legend winning super bowl in 1995. He left the Cowboys in 2006 and spent the final two seasons at San Francisco 49ers.

The NFL was quick to share its thoughts following the Hall of Famer’s death, “The NFL family is deeply saddened by the passing of Hall of Famer, Super Bowl Champion and Cowboys legend, Larry Allen. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.”

1. Named In NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 1990s

Larry Allen was named in NFL’s All-Decade team of the year of the 1990’s. He was named as one of the four guards in the team along with Bruce Matthews, Randall McDaniel and Steve Wisniewski. He was also named in the team of the decade in the new millennium joining the new generation of guards where he joined the likes of Will Shields and Steve Hutchinson.

2. Allen lifting 225 pounds 43 times

Veteran Mark Tuinei’s injury gave Allen the opportunity to make his first NFL start in Week 6 game during the 1994 season which they won 38-3. After his initial start that week, Allen started 197 games that he appeared in with Dallas and San Francisco.
