Endrick, Garnacho and Santiago Gimenez, Top Young Players to Watch Out For at Copa America 2024
Copa America, the longest-running continental football tournament in the world, is set to begin on 20 June 2024 in the United States. A total of 16 teams will do battle to claim South America’s ultimate prize. Several big names will take part in the tournament with many young players set to light up the stage.
Let’s look at some young players who will participate in the tournament in the United States.
Endrick – Brazil
Regarded as one of the talented players of the new generation, the 17-year-old is set to light up the footballing world after his move to European Champions Real Madrid this summer.
But first, Endrick has business to attend for Brazil in the USA. He will wear the No.9 shirt and will likely spearhead the Brazilian attack as Brazil look to win the Copa for the first time since 2019.

Valentin Carboni – Argentina
Valentin Carboni is a classic No.10 of Argentina who spent most of the season on loan at Monza from Inter Milan. He can be a real asset for the Albiceleste in the USA due to his ability to score off the bench. His slick feet and off-the-ball movement will be pivotal in the already star-studded lineup of Argentina.
Santiago Gimenez – Mexico
Mexico will have to field a very young squad in this year’s Copa America due to injuries and retirements. As a result, a lot will depend on Feynoord’s Santiago Gimenez to take El Tri into the latter stages of the tournament. Gimenez scored 38 goals in 62 appearances for Arne Slot’s Feyenoord in Eredivisie.
Now he has a chance to announce himself on the International stage as he will be a key figure in Jamie Lozano’s side.

Alejandro Garnacho – Argentina
Alejandro Garnacho enjoyed a breakthrough season with Manchester United scoring 9 goals and making 4 assists in all competitions. Having been called up by Scaloni for the Copa, it will be difficult to break into Argentina’s starting X1.
Instead, he might be an ideal spark plug off the bench, something he has already shown during his time at Manchester United.
Piero Quispe – Peru
Peru’s squad for Copa America is filled with veterans and new faces. One of the young players under the spotlight this summer will be playmaker Piero Quispe.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a successful season in Liga MX and is now on the radar of Premier League clubs like Brighton and Nottingham Forest. Quispe will need to be at his best to give Peru faithful hope in the Copa America.

Folarin Balogun -USA
The striker bagged 21 goals for Reims in the last season. However, Balogun has not quite lived up to the expectations of his National side.
Gregg Berhalter’s side is yet again struggling to find a regular goal scorer and a lot will depend on the 22-year-old if USMNT want to go far in their home Copa America.
Savio – Brazil
Savio was one of the key players in Girona’s brilliant season which saw them qualify for the Champions League for the first time in their history.

The 20-year-old made his International debut recently against England at the Wembley Stadium. Having been called up for Brazil’s Copa America squad, this could be his chance to announce himself to the football audience on the global stage.
