Having led Australia to WTC and ICC ODI Word Cup titles, Pat Cummins holds a grand stature in world cricket. But humble as ever the Australian fast bowler, who will hope to help his team win the T20 World Cup, was carrying drinks in their first match of the tournament.

Fans to see him carrying drinks during Australia’s T20 WC 2024 match versus Oman in Barbados on Thursday. Cummins, who doesn’t have the captaincy role in the T20I format, wasn’t selected for the game as Australia decided to go with Nathan Ellis.

Despite not being in the playing XI, Cummins showed his commitment to the side as he carried the water to his teammates, along with a few important messages during the break.

Cummins is coming into the T20 World Cup on the back of a successful IPL 2024 campaign. The all-rounder led SRH from the front and helped them reach the final against KKR.

Batting first, the Aussies found themselves in trouble as they were reduced to 50 for 3 in 8.3 overs. Marcus Stoinis and David Warner would then steady the ship and launch a counter-attack with the former being the aggressor. Stoinis flipped a switch in 15th over when he hit Mehran Khan for 4 sixes as the Aussies found momentum.

Stoinis remained unbeaten on 67 and Warner scored 56 as Australia posted 164 in the end.

Oman’s chase never got off the blocks quickly as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Stoinis starred with the ball as well and picked up 3 wickets to round off a perfect night as Oman were restricted to 129/9.
