On the second day of the 2025 IPL auction in Jeddah, 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history after being acquired by Rajasthan Royals. He became the youngest player to be signed in IPL history.
Rajasthan Royals won the bidding war with Delhi Capitals and signed the Bihar-born batter for a whopping INR 1.1 crore. On Saturday, the 13-year-old played his first match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and smashed left-arm pacer Aniket Choudhary for two towering sixes. He scored 13 runs in that match.
The young prodigy recently made headlines as the youngest batter (13 years, 288 days) to score a century in international cricket, achieving this milestone during a Youth Test for India Under-19 against Australia Under-19 in Chennai. Vaibhav amassed 104 runs off 62 deliveries, with his century coming in just 58 balls. This remarkable feat not only marks the fastest Youth Test hundred by an Indian but also ranks second-fastest globally.
