On the opening day of the mega auction for the IPL 2025, two players from Jammu and Kashmir were acquired, with Kulgam’s Rasikh Salam being secured by Royal Challengers Bangalore and Abdul Samad being sold to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
A total of 14 players from Jammu and Kashmir are part of the 2025 IPL auction, with their prospects unfolding during the event. Among them, pacer Rasikh Salam, a native of the Bhan Ashmuji area in Kulgam, was signed by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for a remarkable Rs 6 crore.
Having previously played for Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Delhi Capitals, Rasikh entered the auction with a base price of Rs 30 lakh. This acquisition will see him participate in the IPL for the fourth time.
Additionally, Abdul Samad, an all-rounder hailing from Jammu, who was retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad for three consecutive seasons, was snapped up by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 4.2 crore.
The outcome for the remaining 12 players from Jammu and Kashmir is expected to be revealed later today. They include Atif Mushtaq (bowler), Avinash Singh (bowler), Nasir Lone (all-rounder), Mujtaba Yousuf (bowler), Abid Mushtaq (all-rounder), Vivrant Sharma (all-rounder), Shubham Khajuria (batsman), Musaif Ajaz, Kunal Chibb (bowler), Yudhveer Singh (all-rounder) and Aquib Nabi (all-rounder).
