“People Remember for a Long Time,” Rishabh Pant Talks About the Pressure of a India vs Pakistan Match, Ahead of T20 World Cup Clash
Ahead of the momentous T20 World Cup epic clash between India and Pakistan on Sunday, Indian players opened up about the pressure catapulted around the game. The high-octane clash has always been much awaited game. Even US has gathered record breaking number of audience for the match.
In a video by Star Sports, the Indian cricketers shared their emotion ahead of the India vs Pakistan match. Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Siraj and India’s wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant talked about the feeling of facing the neighboring rivals Pakistan.
Kuldeep Yadav candidly said that they hardly get to play with Pakistan and the expectations from the fans and friends keeps him motivated.
Ravindra Jadeja explained that prior to the match, an atmosphere is built about the crucial clash against Pakistan. But once match starts it doesn’t affect their minds. He also emphasized that playing with Pakistan doesn’t hit different.
Hardik Pandya, India’s vice-captain also opined same as Jadeja about having Pakistan as an opponent but made a confession “I will be naive if I say it doesn’t affect us…there is crowd”. He, however, said he is able to disconnect himself from any such influence on the match day.
Mohammed Siraj remarked since childhood, given the hype to India Pakistan match, it is a different emotion. He always wanted to play this very high staked clash. Recollecting, ODI World Cup match with the rivals, he described the atmosphere, the energy and the environment to be amazing. Mohammad Siraj seems all geared up for the significant day.
Rishabh Pant on Pressure Ahead of Ind vs Pak Match
Rishabh Pant is a powerful batter of Indian cricket team and he talked about the pressure, the emotion, the pride, the fun encompassed in the much awaited battle between India and Pakistan,
“It is always exciting because this is a special match. Playing cricket is one thing, it is also about the country’s pride. Carrying different environment one feels more pressure in it because throughout year…these are kind of matches which people remember for a long time and that’s what makes it fun to play in such matches.”
In T20 World Cup 2024, India has won the first match against Ireland and is looking forward to take on Pakistan, who suffered an embarrassing loss to USA in their opening game. The India vs Pakistan clash will take place on 9 June at Nassau County International Cricket stadium in New York.
