Pakistan Govt. Directs PCB to Reject Hybrid Model for Champions Trophy: Rumor

Recently, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi reached out to his country’s government, requesting their intervention after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) refused to send their team to Pakistan to participate in the Champions Trophy 2025 which is scheduled from 19 February.

The BCCI has informed the International Cricket Council(ICC) that Men in Blue will not travel to Pakistan. PCB received an e-mail from the ICC confirming the news. Reportedly Pakistani government directed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) not to accept any hybrid model for the upcoming ICC tournament. Pakistan is ready to host the first ICC tournament since the 1996 ODI World Cup.

PCB accepted the hybrid model for the Asia Cup 2023, but this time they stand firm to hosting the whole tournament in Pakistan. The last time India traveled to Pakistan was in Asia Cup 2008.
