Most Runs for Jammu and Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy
The Jammu and Kashmir cricket team is run by JKCA and competes in all the major national tournaments including the Ranji Trophy. The team has been a part of the Ranji trophy since the 1959-60 season. Jammu and Kashmir was seen as one of the minnows in the tournament, however, they have shown promise in recent times beating some of the big teams such as Mumbai in the 2015-16 season.
Let us take a look at the players with the most runs for Jammu and Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy.
1. Ian Dev Singh Chauhan
Ian Dev Singh hails from the Gandhi Nager area of Jammu. His career spanned over 16 years and was one of the key batsmen of Jammu and Kashmir. With 4725 runs from 141 innings, he is the leading run-scorer for J&K in the Ranji Trophy.

Apart from J&K, he represented India Green, North Zone, India Board President’s XI, the Rest of India, and the Kandy Customs Cricket Club of Sri Lanka. Spending much of his time in Mumbai, Dev Singh’s game was hugely influenced by former Indian captain Bishan Bedi.
2. Parvez Rasool
Parvez Rasool hails from the Bijbehara area of Anantnag district. He plays as an all-rounder for the Jammu and Kashmir team and is one of the regular members of India A. Rasool has scored 4694 runs in the Ranji Trophy in 134 innings with an average of 38.47.
Rasool was Jammu and Kashmir’s best player in the 2012-13 season, ending up as the highest run scorer and highest wicket-taker for his side. In 2012-13, he guided J&K to their first knockout berth in 10 years.
3. Shubham Pradeep Khajuria
Shubham Pradeep Khajuria was born in 1995 in Jammu. The opening batsman has scored 3434 runs in 114 innings with an average of 30.91 in the Ranji Trophy. He has also represented India at the Under-19 level.

The 28-year-old is still a part of the Jammu and Kashmir side and is one of the key players for the state. Khajuria is also known for his aggression in white ball cricket and has 64 sixes to his name which is the most by any other batsman from the team.
4. Hardeep Singh
Hardeep is the fourth-highest run-scorer for J&K in the Ranji Trophy with 1767 runs in 69 innings. Singh is widely known for his infamous partnership with Samiuallh Beigh in 2013 to guide J&K to a thrilling win over Goa.
Singh ended up on an unbeaten 95 and booked their historic qualification to the knockout round. He played his last match against Karnataka in 2015 before retiring from all forms of cricket.
5. Samiullah Beigh
Samiullah Beigh hails from Srinagar city of Jammu and Kashmir. He represented J&K from 2002 to 2017 as an all-rounder. He scored 1737 runs from 93 innings with an average of 22.55. He scored his first-ever century for J&K in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy.
The former Ranji captain of J&K retired from cricket in 2017. He went on to earn a cricket coaching degree from Australia and opened his cricket academy in Srinagar.
6. Adil Reshi
Adil Reshi hails from the Basant Bugh area of Srinagar city. A top-order batter and useful medium pacer, Reshi played for Jammu and Kashmir for six seasons where he enjoyed tremendous success. He scored 1626 runs in 60 innings with an average of 27.57.

He was an integral part of Jammu and Kashmir’s Ranji trophy season of 2013-14 where he was the highest run scorer for his state. Reshi is still active in his career and wants to return to the Jammu and Kashmir team for the upcoming season.
7. Kavaljit Singh
Kavaljit Singh was born in 1973 in Jammu. He was active from 1999-2008 and scored 1556 runs from 54 innings in the Ranji Trophy with a batting average of 31.12.
Singh hit a couple of tons in his Ranji Trophy career and despite failing to break into the Indian Test side, he was one of the key figures for his state’s success.
8. Dhruv Mahajan
Dhruv Mahajan was born in 1979 in Jammu. The right-handed batsman scored 1538 runs in 60 innings with an average of 27.46. The former Ranji Trophy captain represented J&K for 16 long years.
Mahajan also played in a now-defunct Indian Cricket League (ICL) for Delhi Giants. He was known for his aggressive style of play and won many games single-handedly for his team.
9. Ram Dayal
Ram Dayal was born in 1988 in Tawi Jammu. The all-rounder scored 1465 runs in 77 innings with an average of 22.53. He represented Jammu and Kashmir from the Under 19 level. Dayal is one of the key assets of J&K cricket thanks to his bowling ability and batting prowess.
Dayal’s last game for Jammu and Kashmir came against Puducherry in 2022. His best game came in the 2014-14 Ranji season when he scored his maiden ton against Baroda to guide his team to victory.
10. Bandeep Singh
Bandeep Singh was born in 1989 in Jammu. The leg-break bowler was also handy with the bat scoring 1435 in 60 innings in the Ranji Trophy with an average of 27.07.

Known for his six-hitting ability, Singh broke the record of star Indian cricketer Yusuf Pathan and Shakti Singh for the fastest 50 in the Ranji Trophy history, taking just 15 balls compared to Pathan and Shakti’s record of 18 balls.
