After days of rumors and discussion, the official retention list of IPL 2025 is out, and many franchises have retained their players, which has caused significant salary hikes for these players.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru has retained Rajat Paitdar for 11Cr. Indian young batter who made his debut in IPL 2021, scored 395 runs with a strike rate of 177.13 in the last edition of IPL. He showed his skills under pressure and was one of the main reasons for the brilliant comeback of RCB in IPL 2024. His value in IPL 2024 was INR 20 lakhs, he got the hike by over 55 times.

Sri Lankan young pacer Matheesha Pathirana, the death-over specialist for CSK from IPL 2022, has also been retained by the CSK management. In IPL 2024, Pathirana took 13 wickets with a best bowling figure of 4/28. His skills have been awarded 65 times salary hikes, and his value in IPL 2024 was INR 20 lakhs. CSK has retained him for INR 13 Cr.

Indian young keeper batter Dhruv Jurel received the biggest hike in the IPL 2025 retention. It raised a lot of eyebrows but it looks like RR is trying to back Jurel and build a strong Indian core for the future. The keeper scored 195 runs with a strike rate of 138.30 in the IPL 2024. Royals will hope that Jurel will stand up as an effective middle-order batsman and clutch finisher in the big games, Jurel’s salary rose from INR 20 lakhs to 14 Cr. This is a 69 times rise in salary.

5 players retained: Heinrich Klaasen (INR 23 Cr), Pat Cummins (INR 18 Cr), Abhishek Sharma (INR 14 Cr), Travis Head (INR 14 Cr), Nitish Kumar Reddy (INR 6 Cr)

Washington Sundar, T Natrajan, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have not been retained by SRH. Ahead of Virat Kohli and Nicholas Pooran who were retained at INR 21 Cr each, Heinrich Klaasen is the most expensive player retained at INR 23 Cr.

Mumbai Indians

5 players retained: Jasprit Bumrah (INR 18 Cr), Suryakumar Yadav (INR 16.35 crore), Hardik Pandya (INR 16.35 crore), Rohit Sharma (INR 16.30 crore), Tilak Varma (INR 8 crore)

Ishan Kishan and Tim David have not been retained by MI, Hardik Pandya will lead MI in IPL 2025.

Chennai Super Kings

5 players retained: Ruturaj Gaikwad (INR 18 crore), Ravindra Jadeja (INR 18 crore), Matheesha Pathirana (INR 13 crore), Shivam Dube (INR 12 crore), MS Dhoni (INR 4 crore)

CSK released Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Mahesh Theekshana, Tushar Deshpande, Shardul Thakur, and Deepak Chahar.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru

3 players retained: Virat Kohli (INR 21 crore), Rajat Patidar (INR 11 crore), Yash Dayal (INR 5 crore)

Glenn Maxwell, Mohammed Siraj, and Cameron Green including former skipper Faf du Plessis, have not been retained for the IPL 2025.

Delhi Capitals

4 players retained: Axar Patel (INR 16.50 crore), Kuldeep Yadav (INR 13.25 crore), Tristan Stubbs (INR 10 crore), Abishek Porel (INR 4 crore)

Rishab Pant, Anrich Nortje, and David Warner have been released by the DC management.

Kolkata Knight Riders

6 players retained: Rinku Singh (INR 13 crore), Varun Chakravarthy (INR 12 crore), Sunil Narine (INR 12 crore), Andre Russell (INR 12 crore), Harshit Rana (INR 4 crore), Ramandeep Singh (INR 4 crore)

Phil Salt, Mitchell Starc, Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana, and Venkatesh Iyer have not been retained by the KKR for the IPL 2025.

Rajasthan Royals

6 players retained: Sanju Samson (INR 18 crore), Yashasvi Jaiswal (INR 18 crore), Riyan Parag (INR 14 crore), Dhruv Jurel (INR 14 crore), Shimron Hetmyer (INR 11 crore), Sandeep Sharma (INR 4 crore)

R. Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Jos Buttler have been released by RR management.

Punjab Kings

2 players retained: Shashank Singh (INR 5.5 crore), Prabhsimran Singh (INR 4 crore)

Kagiso Rabada, Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, Arshdeep Singh,  Sam Curran, and Harshal Patel have been released by Punjab Kings.

Lucknow Super Giants

5 players retained: Nicholas Pooran (INR 21 crore), Ravi Bishnoi (INR 11 crore) Mayank Yadav (INR 11 crore), Mohsin Khan (INR 4 crore), Ayush Badoni (INR 4 crore)

KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, Quinton de Kock, and Krunal Pandya have been released by the management.

Gujarat Titans

5 players retained: Rashid Khan (INR 18 crore), Shubman Gill (INR 16.50 crore), Sai Sudharsan (INR 8.50 crore), Rahul Tewatia (INR 4 crore), Shahrukh Khan (INR 4 crore)

Mohammad Shami and David Miller have not been retained by GT.
