India has remained undefeated after a triumph over Ireland, Pakistan and USA in the group stage matches. Winning against USA on June 12 pushed the team into the next stage of the tournament.

Chasing 111 to win, India had a shaky start as they lost Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in first 3 overs. The formidable batter, Kohli was dismissed at a duck while as, the hitman, Rohit Sharma was bowled out with only 3 runs by Saurabh Natravalkar. But Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube took over after that. Yadav posted a 50 and Dube 31, and stood strongly upright on the pitch until they claimed the victory for India.

In the first inning, Arshdeep Singh, gave tough time to USA batters by taking four wickets and Hardik Pandya complimented the win with his two wickets and both bowlers restricted USA to 110/8.

Rohit Sharma led team, became the third team after South Africa and Australia to book a spot in the Super 8. South Africa remains unbeaten and so does India until now. South Africa during the group stage fixtures defeated Sri Lanka, Netherlands, Bangladesh and Nepal.

In the similar style, Australia has come unbeaten to the Super Eight stage. Aussies first defeated Oman, then they defeated England in the second group stage match. And in the last two group stage fixtures, they defeated Namibia and Scotland.

India has also given a commendable performance to make it to Super Eights. In all the four matches of group stage, India claimed the win.

This implies we can now expect the epic battle between the best teams in the world of cricket.

Much awaited clash is that of India and Australia. In the 50-over ODI World Cup 2023, India tasted a bitter loss at the hands of Australia in the finals.

India belongs to Group A and Australia places itself in Group B, meaning they are now what ICC has named as A1 and B2.

When And Where Is India vs Australia

As already proposed by ICC, wherever does India and Australia finish on the points table as A1 and B2, they will be locking horns on June 24 at St. Lucia. Rohit Sharma leads the Men in blue while Mitchell Marsh boasts about his powerful men in Australia’s side.

This match is an opportunity for India to avenge the loss they had faced against Australia at the pinnacle in 2023 ODI World Cup.
