1,260 Sixes, 14 Centuries, 549 Runs in a Single Match; IPL 2024 In Numbers
Indian Premier League 2024 gets its champion for the season-Kolkata Knight Riders at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 26.
KKR gave an astounding performance, beating off Sunrisers Hyderabad in 19 overs. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and decided to bat, only to face the most merciless loss of recording the lowest total of 113 in the IPL final. Five of the six bowlers of KKR grabbed a wicket in their first over, including a golden duck for SRH’s talisman Travis Head to Vaibhav Arora in the next over.
KKR replied with locking the score only in 11 overs with 8 wickets at their back, tagging them the champions for the third time after a decade long drought. It’s their third win under the Gautam Gambhir’s leadership.

Roaring records of IPL 2024
SHREYAS IYER became first-ever player to lead multiple sides to IPL finals. Also Shreyas names himself as the fifth Indian to win an IPL trophy after Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir, and Hardik Pandya.
MOST SIXES: IPL 2024 recorded as many as 1,260 maximums hit the most in a season.
MOST INDIVIDUAL CENTURIES: The 2024 IPL season produced as many as 14 centuries, the most in a season.
With Jos Buttler two centuries to his name and Will Jacks, Jonny Bairstow, Suryakumar Yadav, B Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, Sunil Narine, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Travis Head, Rohit Sharma, Marcus Stoinis, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Virat Kohli single century each.
MOST 200 PLUS(41) : As many as 41 times we had 200 plus score , this season. SRH became the first to produce scores notably – 287/3 vs RCB, 277/3 vs MI, and 266/7 vs DC, making it the highest-ever total in franchise cricket. Meanwhile, KKR pulled off 272/7 against Delhi Capitals.
MOST SIXES,AGGREGATE TOTALS :The PBKS-KKR match fetched 42 total sixes, marking it the highest in any T20 match.
SRH and MI as well as RCB and SRH saw 38 sixes each. Also 549 aggregate runs were hit in the SRH-RCB match in Bengaluru, with no other T20 game recording more than 500runs.
HIGHEST RUN CHASE : Two of the top-three successful run-chases were recorded in IPL 2024.
By chasing down 262 runs, with eight balls to spare Punjab Kings recorded the highest-ever successful run-chase in T20 cricket against KKR. Also, Rajasthan Royals emulated the record of chasing down 224,the second-highest successful run-chase in the IPL. Same they repeated against KKR.
TWO 15-BALL CENTURIES: Australian opener Jake Fraser-McGurk became the first-ever player to record two 15-ball half-centuries in IPL history, striking at a jaw-dropping rate of 234.04 in IPL 2024.
HIGHEST IPL TOTALS EVER : The most shocking highlight of the season was the highest IPL total ever recorded – 287/3 by SRH against RCB in Bengaluru.
FEWEST DEFEATS FOR A TEAM: KKR, the champions of the season 2024 recorded the least number of defeats , only 3.
