Mike Tyson Returns: When and Where to Watch His Boxing Clash vs Jake Paul

Nearly four decades after his professional debut and 19 years post-retirement, 58-year-old Mike Tyson is set to return to the ring on Friday in a controversial Netflix-backed match. Tyson, the heavyweight powerhouse of the late 1980s, will face 27-year-old YouTuber Jake Paul in a sanctioned bout at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, in Arlington, Texas. This matchup has sparked significant backlash throughout the boxing community.

Originally scheduled for July, the eight-round fight was delayed after Tyson suffered a medical scare in May, needing treatment for a bleeding ulcer that caused him to vomit blood during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles.

Brooklyn-born Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) became the youngest heavyweight world champion at age 20 when he stopped Trevor Berbick by TKO in the second round in 1986, claiming the WBC title in Las Vegas. Dubbed “The Baddest Man on the Planet,” he went on to unify the division by winning the WBA title in March 1987 and the IBF belt five months later, making him the undisputed heavyweight champion. Tyson successfully defended his titles six times before suffering a historic upset loss to James “Buster” Douglas by a 10th-round KO in February 1990.

Cleveland native Jake Paul (10-1, 7 KOs), now based in Puerto Rico for training, began his professional boxing career in 2020. He notched six consecutive wins—four by knockout—primarily against former MMA fighters. After a split-decision loss to Tommy Fury in February 2023, the 27-year-old has rebounded with three straight victories, including a swift first-round KO over Ryan Bourland in March.

Now, these two fighters, representing vastly different eras of the sport, are set to clash in what has become one of the year’s most anticipated matchups.
