Over 1.1 Million Fans Waiting to See Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal As El Clasico Looms

The iconic atmosphere surrounding El Clásico hasn’t quite been the same since Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2018 departure to Juventus and Lionel Messi’s move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2021. Without these two global superstars, who elevated the rivalry with their consistent brilliance and competitive edge, the subsequent Real Madrid versus Barcelona encounters have lacked the clear standout figures who once almost single-handedly sold the spectacle to a worldwide audience.

However, the arrival of Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid and the rise of Lamine Yamal at Barcelona have created new excitement for the marquee fixture.  The highly anticipated showdown at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid will mark the French sensation’s debut El Clásico appearance, following his move to Real Madrid on a five-year contract ahead of this season.

After ten matches, Barça holds the top spot, with Real Madrid trailing by just three points in second place. For the Blaugrana, the upcoming clash presents an opportunity to reverse their recent fortunes against Carlo Ancelotti’s Madrid, who have claimed victory in their last four meetings across all competitions.

At Barcelona, coach Hansi Flick will take heart from his positive start with the club, having secured a 2-1 win over Madrid earlier in his tenure, although in a friendly match back in August.

Massive demand for tickets to Real Madrid vs. Barcelona El Clásico

Over a million fans have joined the virtual queue for tickets to the highly anticipated El Clásico on 26 October, a match that could see Real Madrid reclaim the top spot in La Liga. Real Madrid opened ticket sales to the general public this Friday for the highly anticipated El Clásico. Despite only non-season ticket holders being eligible to buy, the virtual queue surged to nearly 1.1 million fans by 11:00 local time, reflecting the massive demand for this marquee fixture.

The least expensive tickets for the general public are priced at 130 euros, but despite this, the demand is at an all-time high. Millions of fans are eagerly waiting, some for several hours, for the opportunity to watch the highly anticipated clash between Ancelotti’s Real Madrid and Flick’s Barcelona live from the stands.

Real Madrid’s Week 11 fixture against Barcelona will mark their second consecutive home match at the Santiago Bernabéu. Just a few days earlier, on Tuesday the 22nd, Los Blancos will host Borussia Dortmund in a rematch of last season’s Champions League final, where Ancelotti’s side secured a 2-0 victory at Wembley, thanks to goals from Carvajal and Vinicius.
